Health Care/Health Companies. Is it all a scandal?

I’ve had group insurance through my work most of my life. It’s supposed to be really good. However, if you actually get an illness, they deny treatment all of the time, overriding doctors decisions.
Allstate got sued and settled for a huge amount in Florida when one of their consultants shared a document proving that they (and most insurance companies) use a delay, deny, defend process to avoid paying claims. They put off responding to claims as long as possible, hoping you’ll give up, then finally deny it, then run people through their own company’s appeals process (obviously biased) just to still deny it. They often only pay after a lawsuit, by which time, people are seriously ill and too tired to fight anymore. It’s a greedy, greedy, and dysfunctional system.
